Elegant Touch

As I continue my search for easy ways to get amazing nails, I stumbled upon Elegant Touch as I watched the haul and favorites videos of Zoella. Being so excited for the Christmas season, I decided to buy two different Christmas designs to wear throughout the month of December. Coming in such cute packaging and hearing great things about it from famous beauty bloggers, I had such high expectations for this product.

After having the Snow Globe design on for about 4 hours, I found that this product did not reach my expectations for it. The nails started to come off after only being used for a very short time. The adhesive tabs it came with did not have the best quality. Because of these reasons, I decided to take them off on the same day that I put them on since it became very distracting and time consuming, as I had to keep on putting it back on and making sure all of them were still there.

I feel that this product best suits those who do not do many hands on tasks in their everyday routines. Although I have not tried this method yet, it seems as if it will be best to use it with fake nail glue, which has to be bought separately, rather than with the adhesive tabs it comes with.

If any of you have tried this or any other product, I would love to hear about your thoughts on it and maybe some of the tips you have in enhancing its quality. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

Collective Haul

I recently visited Ala Moana Shopping Center to buy gifts and some clothes for the upcoming holidays. With there still being many discounts and sales in stores, there are so many amazing things I got at such great prices.

From Aeropostale, I bought a United XXVI t-shirt, that has a denim look to it, together with a gray hoodie. While checking out I also decided to buy two roll on perfumes, Cloud 9 and Soho Nights, that had such cute packaging. I thought this would be great for when going on trips since it is not bulky and it's easy to use.

The next store I went to was Claire's, where I was able to buy two necklaces as a present for only five dollars each. The first necklace is a pinkish, orange rose and gem necklace that has a gold chain that is half wrapped with a pink string. The other necklace I got is a teal and gold flower necklace and I just think that it looks so cute with all the different flower sizes.

After Claire's, I went to Forever 21 where I purchased a black romper that has a sequin top. Once I saw it on the mannequin, I automatically knew that I wanted to get it. This by far was  my favorite purchase, because it has such an elegant yet casual look that it can be used for various occasions. Along with this, I also bought a detangler brush from the love & beauty section.

So this is my most recent haul. Have you bought anything too? If so I would love to hear what you bought. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

Natsunoya Tea House

This past weekend, one of my best friends celebrated her sixteenth birthday at Natsunoya Tea House in town. Hidden in a local neighborhood, the cute little tea house they rented out was located next to a little garden area and pond, which gave the area such a peaceful vibe.

Upon entering the house, we took our shoes off and were greeted with a comfortable and amazingly decorated area. There, we were served tea together with a variety of other drinks and had a buffet style lunch. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the food I ate, but it was certainly delicious. The food we had ranged from salad to rice and from beef to chicken. At our tables, we were also given tempura shrimp and breaded zucchini. For dessert, we enjoyed some rainbow cake and also one of my favorites, Chantilly cake.

After lunch, we were able to take pictures using an amazing photo booth and some props created by my friend and her family. From the games we played to the many memories shared, we were able to enjoy each other's company and I definitely had an amazing time.

Natsunoya Tea House proved to be a great location for big or small get togethers. I enjoyed my visit here and would probably come back again in the future. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

Macadamia Nut Crumble Cake

This past Thanksgiving, I decided to bake a macadamia nut crumble cake for our family get together. Trying this recipe out for the first time, this pastry turned out to be delicious and became a big hit at our Thanksgiving celebration.

This recipe calls for:
  • Cake:
    • Yellow cake mix
    • 2 vanilla pudding boxes - Jello brand
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 cup oil
    • 1 cup water
  • Topping:
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup macadamia nuts (or whatever nut you prefer)
    • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
To make this cake, you simply need to mix all the cake ingredients in a large bowl until the batter is smooth. Do not follow the instructions on the box for the yellow cake and pudding mixes, simply just use the powder mix that is inside of the box. To make the toppings, you must also mix all of the ingredients together, and add more or less of each to your liking.

In a pan, pour in half of your batter then create another layer using half of your toppings. Then pour the rest of your batter into the pan and place the rest of your toppings onto it. Place your pan into the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees. When this time is over, bake again for 30 to 40 minutes at 325 degrees. Times will vary depending on the oven being used.

Before taking the crumble cake out, poke a toothpick inside and make sure it comes out clean. If it does not, place back in oven and continue to bake until done. Let sit and cool before serving. Eat the crumble cake by itself, or enjoy it with a topping of your choice.

Hope you enjoy this delicious treat! I would love to hear how it turned it for you guys and your reviews on it. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

Black Friday Haul 2014

This Black Friday, my family and I decided to brave the long lines and take advantage of some amazing deals. After a long day of looking around and debating whether I should get something or not, I've ended up with a pretty good size of items I bought.

With Christmas break coming soon, I decided to get some books to read while on vacation. After waiting for it's release for months, I was finally able to buy Zoe's book, Girl Online. While looking around the store, I found The Infinite Moment of Us, which seemed pretty interesting so I decided to get it as well.

Then we went to Aeropostale, which had one of the best deals ever with 60% off everything. From there, I decided to buy a LLD Eyelash Sweater in coral pink that is so soft and comfy, I'm definitely going to get a good use out of it this season. I also bought a graphic tee from the United XXVI brand to use as sleepwear since they only had the larger sizes left.

From Walmart we bought a Sony Wifi Blu-ray Player and some DVDs, together with others from Best Buy.

After a long time of debating, I also decided to buy a GoPro Hero3+ from Best Buy. Since the deal of this product came with a free LCD Touch BacPac and a SD card, the price was worth it. Although this purchase pretty much left me broke, I'm glad that I bought it because I will be able to capture so many memories with such amazing quality and ease.

So this is my black friday haul; what's yours? Hope you found some great deals and treated yourself to a shopping spree. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

#Kindnessxox

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, people are starting to show their appreciation for all the things they have been blessed with; things that we take for granted and should be thankful for everyday. As we go on with our daily lives, we don't realize just how how fortunate we are to be able to do things that seem unimportant to us, like taking a car ride or even going to school.

We forget about those who don't have the privilege to go to school. We forget about those who don't have anything to eat, while we are being picky with our food and at times wasting it. We forget about those who don't have the comfort to sleep on a bed at night, or don't have a roof over their heads to protect them.

This Thanksgiving, we should make it our goal to reach out to those who are in need, whether it be a compliment to a stranger who passes you by or donating to charities or organizations that help others. Starting today, we should take every opportunity we have to be a source of joy to others. As I try to do this myself, I would like to encourage you all to do some random acts of kindness that just may make someone's day a thousand times better. By helping others, we will be able to share with them the joys of life and hopefully inspire others to do the same. Through this, we will be able to make the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time.

If you do choose to accept this challenge, post a picture or a message on any social media using the hashtag #kindnessxox. Through this, we will be able to share the many ideas we have all come up with to try and make a change in people's lives.

Don't be afraid to go out and try to bring joy into the world. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

Kiss gelDress

Not having the best skills at putting on nail polish, I always find myself having to redo my nails over and over again. Whether it be having to apply more coats or taking off everything I did and restarting the process, I'm never always completely happy with the end result. As I got tired of the hassle in trying to make my nails look somewhat presentable, I began to search for products that made the manicure process easy and left me content with the way my nails looked.

While looking through my local Walmart store I found Kiss's gelDress products, which are sticker like nail polish gel strips. As I looked through the selection, I absolutely loved all the colors and designs that they had. To test out the product, I settled with buying the designs called "Moon Shine" and "Majestic."

Only costing about $5, this product was easy to apply and it was able to give me salon quality looking nails. All I had to do after putting it on was apply a clear coat on top. After having them on for about a week now, they still look amazing and I've received so many compliments on them. I would definitely use this product again and recommend it for those of you who want to save time and money and skip the hassle in doing your own nails at home. There are so many choices you can choose from for you to be able to express yourself and show your personality, just by a look at your hands.

Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

How to Successfully Follow a Blog

Lately, I have realized that whenever I tried to follow a blog and clicked on the "join this site" button, I would always receive this message:
As I tried to search up reasons for this and ways to fix it, I found that many people have been having this problem since 2012, or maybe even longer, and there was still no solution to it. So I decided to play around, and after clicking many different buttons, I was able to successfully follow a blog.

Just incase any of you wanted to follow my blog, or another one for that matter, this blog post will show you how to do that.

First, you click on the blue square that is at the right corner of the members tab.

Then, if needed, log into the account you want to follow the blog with.

As soon as you are logged in, click on "More Options" located at the bottom center of the brown/beige box that appears.
On the next screen that shows up, you can finally click on the follow button.

Confidence

As we all go on with our daily routines, there always seems to be that one person we see who makes us feel bad about ourselves and the way we look. Whether it be that photoshopped model on a magazine or that tall and 'beautiful' person who passes us by, it seems like we can never escape the expectations society has set for us to be able to call ourselves beautiful.

With all the stress and importance placed on the way someone looks, we always end up wishing that we were someone else rather than ourselves. We end up trying to make ourselves someone who we're not and covering up the true values we have in life. As we tend to follow the trends that have been set by society, we take on completely different looks as we seek the approval of others. Because of this we lose who we are as individuals and follow the temporary ways of the world.

Struggling with confidence myself, I understand how hard it is to just be yourself without caring about what others think. But we need to remember that everyone is different and beautiful in their own way. Beauty isn't about how tall someone is or how much they weigh. It isn't about what kind of clothes you wear or the hair style you have. Rather, its about being the person God has created you to be and the ability for you to be able to love yourself and the people around you. Makeup and fashion should be used to express who you are and not what the world wants you to be. You don't need to use makeup, but if you do, it shouldn't be used to completely hide your face but to respect and enhance the amazing features of the body you have been blessed with.

The way you see yourself is the way people see you, so once you start to realize and believe that you are beautiful in your own way, it will start to show on the outside. Take a chance and be confident. Never forget to be you.

1 Samuel 16:7 "...For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
