As we all go on with our daily routines, there always seems to be that one person we see who makes us feel bad about ourselves and the way we look. Whether it be that photoshopped model on a magazine or that tall and 'beautiful' person who passes us by, it seems like we can never escape the expectations society has set for us to be able to call ourselves beautiful.

With all the stress and importance placed on the way someone looks, we always end up wishing that we were someone else rather than ourselves. We end up trying to make ourselves someone who we're not and covering up the true values we have in life. As we tend to follow the trends that have been set by society, we take on completely different looks as we seek the approval of others. Because of this we lose who we are as individuals and follow the temporary ways of the world.

Struggling with confidence myself, I understand how hard it is to just be yourself without caring about what others think. But we need to remember that everyone is different and beautiful in their own way. Beauty isn't about how tall someone is or how much they weigh. It isn't about what kind of clothes you wear or the hair style you have. Rather, its about being the person God has created you to be and the ability for you to be able to love yourself and the people around you. Makeup and fashion should be used to express who you are and not what the world wants you to be. You don't need to use makeup, but if you do, it shouldn't be used to completely hide your face but to respect and enhance the amazing features of the body you have been blessed with.

The way you see yourself is the way people see you, so once you start to realize and believe that you are beautiful in your own way, it will start to show on the outside. Take a chance and be confident. Never forget to be you.

1 Samuel 16:7 "...For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
