Elegant Touch

As I continue my search for easy ways to get amazing nails, I stumbled upon Elegant Touch as I watched the haul and favorites videos of Zoella. Being so excited for the Christmas season, I decided to buy two different Christmas designs to wear throughout the month of December. Coming in such cute packaging and hearing great things about it from famous beauty bloggers, I had such high expectations for this product.

After having the Snow Globe design on for about 4 hours, I found that this product did not reach my expectations for it. The nails started to come off after only being used for a very short time. The adhesive tabs it came with did not have the best quality. Because of these reasons, I decided to take them off on the same day that I put them on since it became very distracting and time consuming, as I had to keep on putting it back on and making sure all of them were still there.

I feel that this product best suits those who do not do many hands on tasks in their everyday routines. Although I have not tried this method yet, it seems as if it will be best to use it with fake nail glue, which has to be bought separately, rather than with the adhesive tabs it comes with.

If any of you have tried this or any other product, I would love to hear about your thoughts on it and maybe some of the tips you have in enhancing its quality. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

Collective Haul

I recently visited Ala Moana Shopping Center to buy gifts and some clothes for the upcoming holidays. With there still being many discounts and sales in stores, there are so many amazing things I got at such great prices.

From Aeropostale, I bought a United XXVI t-shirt, that has a denim look to it, together with a gray hoodie. While checking out I also decided to buy two roll on perfumes, Cloud 9 and Soho Nights, that had such cute packaging. I thought this would be great for when going on trips since it is not bulky and it's easy to use.

The next store I went to was Claire's, where I was able to buy two necklaces as a present for only five dollars each. The first necklace is a pinkish, orange rose and gem necklace that has a gold chain that is half wrapped with a pink string. The other necklace I got is a teal and gold flower necklace and I just think that it looks so cute with all the different flower sizes.

After Claire's, I went to Forever 21 where I purchased a black romper that has a sequin top. Once I saw it on the mannequin, I automatically knew that I wanted to get it. This by far was  my favorite purchase, because it has such an elegant yet casual look that it can be used for various occasions. Along with this, I also bought a detangler brush from the love & beauty section.

So this is my most recent haul. Have you bought anything too? If so I would love to hear what you bought. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

Natsunoya Tea House

This past weekend, one of my best friends celebrated her sixteenth birthday at Natsunoya Tea House in town. Hidden in a local neighborhood, the cute little tea house they rented out was located next to a little garden area and pond, which gave the area such a peaceful vibe.

Upon entering the house, we took our shoes off and were greeted with a comfortable and amazingly decorated area. There, we were served tea together with a variety of other drinks and had a buffet style lunch. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the food I ate, but it was certainly delicious. The food we had ranged from salad to rice and from beef to chicken. At our tables, we were also given tempura shrimp and breaded zucchini. For dessert, we enjoyed some rainbow cake and also one of my favorites, Chantilly cake.

After lunch, we were able to take pictures using an amazing photo booth and some props created by my friend and her family. From the games we played to the many memories shared, we were able to enjoy each other's company and I definitely had an amazing time.

Natsunoya Tea House proved to be a great location for big or small get togethers. I enjoyed my visit here and would probably come back again in the future. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.

Macadamia Nut Crumble Cake

This past Thanksgiving, I decided to bake a macadamia nut crumble cake for our family get together. Trying this recipe out for the first time, this pastry turned out to be delicious and became a big hit at our Thanksgiving celebration.

This recipe calls for:
  • Cake:
    • Yellow cake mix
    • 2 vanilla pudding boxes - Jello brand
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 cup oil
    • 1 cup water
  • Topping:
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup macadamia nuts (or whatever nut you prefer)
    • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
To make this cake, you simply need to mix all the cake ingredients in a large bowl until the batter is smooth. Do not follow the instructions on the box for the yellow cake and pudding mixes, simply just use the powder mix that is inside of the box. To make the toppings, you must also mix all of the ingredients together, and add more or less of each to your liking.

In a pan, pour in half of your batter then create another layer using half of your toppings. Then pour the rest of your batter into the pan and place the rest of your toppings onto it. Place your pan into the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees. When this time is over, bake again for 30 to 40 minutes at 325 degrees. Times will vary depending on the oven being used.

Before taking the crumble cake out, poke a toothpick inside and make sure it comes out clean. If it does not, place back in oven and continue to bake until done. Let sit and cool before serving. Eat the crumble cake by itself, or enjoy it with a topping of your choice.

Hope you enjoy this delicious treat! I would love to hear how it turned it for you guys and your reviews on it. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.
