February Favorites 2015

Makeup:
I don't wear makeup on a day to day basis but whenever I perform with my hula group at church events and community service projects, we put on a few basic products while trying to keep a natural and simple look. Here are the things I have been loving to use this month:
  1. Neutrogena Long Wear Makeup Foundation
  2. Neutrogena Eye Liner in cosmic black
  3. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara
  4. CoverGirl Instant Cheekbones Contouring Blush

Hair:
As for my hair, I always like to try my best at keeping it looking healthy and smooth. From cleaning to styling, here are the hair products and tools I have been using a lot this month:
  1. Pantene Pro-V Highlighting Shampoo
  2. Pantene Conditioner
  3. Chi Heat Spray
  4. NuMe Curl Jam

Books:
This month, I surprisingly found a lot of time to read a few books that I have been sitting on my desk forever. I absolutely loved reading all of them, although some were pretty scandalous and not what I expected, haha. Anyways, here's the list of the books I have read this month:
  1. The Duff - This book has a good moral to it, although some of the chapters were pretty explicit. I was also able to go and watch the movie the other day with some of my friends and I thought it was pretty good.
  2. The Infinite Moment of Us - I absolutely love this book and I was definitely able to relate to it a little because I too don't really know what I want to be when I grow up yet. The story was basically about making some of the biggest decisions in your life, and how much harder it gets when you begin to fall in love.

TV Show:
Everyday when I get home from school, I always like to relax for a while and watch some tv. The shows I am currently loving this month and keeping up with are:
  1. The Fosters (Abc Family) - I have been keeping up with this show since it first premiered and I absolutely love the whole story line and meaning to it. Although sometimes some of the situations and characters on the show are not to my liking and irritate me (haha), it's interesting to see how this kind of family acts in the world and the things they would do to make sure their loved ones are safe and happy.
  2. Red Band Society (Fox) - I have also been watching this show since it first premiered and I am definitely hooked on watching every season until the end. It is through this show where one can actually see what's behind all the hospital doors. It helps us to realize that teens who have physical and mental illnesses are regular people too, who have to face the same problems as we do while at the same time having to fight against the bad things in their body.
  3. MasterChef Junior (Fox)
  4. Kid's Baking Championship (Food Network) - Both MasterChef Junior and Kid's Baking Championship are amazing shows that showcase the talents of such young and creative children. Loving to cook and bake myself, it's fun to watch the different things that someone as young as 10 years old can create on the spot with certain ingredients. Both shows have also reached the Finale this last week of February and it's so nice to see the winners' reaction. One can only imagine the sense of accomplishment they feel at such a young age, since they were named one of the best young chefs/bakers in the world.
Music:
This month, I've been loving the albums: Four by One Direction and Title by Meghan Trainor. All of the songs in these albums are catchy, fun, and relatable. I can always find something from either of them to match whatever mood I am in.

To see some of the specific songs I've been loving, check out my post February Playlist.

What are some of the things you've been loving this month? I would love to hear about it in the comments below. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you! :)

New Year, New Hair

As this new year began, and even a while before that, I've been wanting to change my hairstyle. Wanting to make sure that the hairstyle and color I chose actually suited me and wouldn't be a waste of my money, I did some searching on the different types of ombres and cuts for the shape of my face.

After a long time of waiting and trying to get an appointment, I was finally able to get my hair done this past weekend. The hairstyle I ended up wanting to get was the balayage ombre. Not knowing if this certain salon knew how to do this kind of style, I asked for ombre with highlights at the top in the color light brown. Because my hair is really dark, the color came out a medium brown but is light brown under the sun.

Side/back (under the sun)
Tied in a pony tail (under the sun)
When my hair was finally finished and styled, I absolutely loved the way it looked. The color was perfect and the layers and highlights were just right. I personally think that this is one of the best colors and styles my hair has been in. I kind of love it so much that I might just color my whole head the same color, haha.

What's the favorite hairstyle you've tried or seen? I would love to hear about it in the comments below. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you :)

February Playlist

The month of February has been filled with so many new and exciting songs, and it's also been one of those months where I go back to old songs that bring back so many memories. I've had these songs in my February playlist on repeat for so long that I can't seem to get them out of my head. Here's the list of my top song picks for this month..

1. Where Do Broken Hearts Go by One Directions: So, I've kind of been obsessed with One Direction forever and this song is currently one of my favorites from their new album Four. It has such a great mix of a slow and fast beat, and the lyrics are amazing. Whenever this song plays, I can't resist having to sing along.

2. Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars: Being one of the most popular songs right now, this song has such a fun beat to it that everyone can't help but dance to. Whenever it comes on the radio, I always find myself turning the volume up and having a blast listening to it.

3. Want U Back by Cher Lloyd: Now this is one of those throwback songs that definitely takes me back to my middle school years. I remember instantly loving this song the first time I heard it and I have definitely continued to love it till this day.

4. Bang Dem Sticks by Meghan Trainor: Alongside with "All About That Bass," this is one of my favorite songs from Meghan Trainor. It's definitely a catchy song that I find myself singing to whenever it comes on.

5. Blank Space by Taylor Swift: Also being one of the popular songs right now, this is one of my favorite songs by Taylor. The style she uses in this new album is so different from before, and I've got to say that I'm loving so many of them. Blank Space has been on repeat so many times on my spotify, and I am also starting to love her other song, Style.

6. Kumusta Ka by Daniell Padilla: This tagalog song is also sort of a throwback that has been around for a long time, but has been remade by a current and popular Filipino artist. I have found myself loving the way music from years ago sound and the different beats they have. I have also been starting to love many of his other remakes like Binibini and Ako'y Sa'yo, Ikay Akin Lamang.

7. Walkaway by Paula DeAnda: Now this is definitely a throwback song from such a long time ago that I don't even know what grade I was in. One of my best friends and I would sing this song so many times and it brings back so many memories of all the little secrets and fun times we had.

Well, these are the songs in my playlist that I've been listening to this month. What are the songs you've been loving and putting on repeat? Feel free to comment down below. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you! :)

My Room Art Collection

As I start to change up my room and redecorate it, I have collected so many amazing art pieces that have made my room look a hundred times better. The pieces I have add so much color to my room and act as inspiration for me. Depicting the places I would love to go to and symbolizing many goals I would love to reach, these art pieces surely reflect my personality.

This first piece is a gift I got from one of my best friends this past Christmas. It displays my blog name 'tonixox' in white paint on a colorful background. I absolutely love this personal name sign and it acts as an encouragement for me to continue working hard on this blog and pursue my dreams. It means even more to me that my best friend made it herself and to know that she is always there to support me and the things I have set out to do :)

I recently purchased the koi and beach paintings from my friend Roxy Gonzales, who sold her artwork for a fundraiser. These paintings are so beautiful that I just couldn't resist buying them. Being mini canvasses, I keep them on my white bookshelf and it brings such an amazing pop of color to it. Roxy is such a talented artist and she also has a fashion blog herself so you should definitely go and check it out :)

These last three artworks were purchased at Ross and I absolutely love the theme and colors it brings to my room. I would love to travel the world someday and my London and Paris paintings keep my hopes up and bring a little piece of each place into my room. The last painting, as seen in my #Kindnessxox blog post, reminds me to live each day with positivity.

I hope these art pieces have inspired you to the kind of things you want to decorate your own room with, and I would love to see and hear about the artworks you have purchased or even made by yourself. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you!

Update & Cinnamon's

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been able to post anything for a while now, all due to illness and trying to get my strength back. It's been a pretty long week fighting the flu, and although I'm not yet a hundred percent better I'm finally able to get back to blogging. So here's a new post on some delicious breakfast food.

After going to mass this past Sunday, my family and I decided to go out for breakfast as a spur of the moment kind of thing. Going out with one of my sister's friends and her parents, we decided to go to Cinnamon's in Waikiki.

This restaurant's speciality was pancakes, and I personally think that they are the best pancakes I've ever tasted. The plates had pretty large portions so you could share with a friend, and their dishes are inexpensive. I decided to share an omelette and red velvet pancakes with my sister. Although the omelette had a little too much egg, the filling was delicious and the pancakes were amazing. I also got to taste their guava pancakes and I think that it's my new favorite. With live music coming up to your table and the environment being the beach, it feels like you are on vacation and it's a place where you can truly enjoy the company of your family and friends.

Overall, Cinnamon's is a lovely place for one to be able to eat delicious food and hang out with your loved ones. I would absolutely love to come here again, and plan on doing so. Thanks for reading. Until the next post. Never forget to be you.
